The re-release trend has been gaining strong momentum in Tamil cinema , with several classic films returning to theatres in upgraded formats. Joining this wave is the director and actor T. Rajendar who launched a new banner, TR Talkies , specifically to bring back his old films to the big screen. As part of this plan, he initially intended to re-release his iconic film ‘ Uyir Ulla Varai Usha ’ last September. However, the release was postponed due to certain reasons. Now, after 43 years, the film has finally returned to theatres in a restored 4K digital version on February 13.

He was particularly emotional about it and said in his post that the film was very heartwarming, with fine actors and pleasant music that would remain special to fans and himself. Through his words, he showed nostalgia and pride, indicating the film remains relevant and loved even after 40 years.
