Indian equity benchmarks traded sharply lower in midday deals on February 13 (IST), with the Nifty 50 slipping 0.95% to 25,563.20 and the Sensex declining 0.93% to 82,897.42. Broad-based selling was visible across sectors, dragging several frontline stocks into the red.


Among the top losers in the Nifty 50 pack, Hindalco Industries led the decline. The stock fell 5.3% to ₹913.5, marking the steepest drop among index constituents at the time of writing.


Eternal slipped 3.1% to ₹288.7, placing it among the worst performers in midday trade.


Shares of Adani Enterprises declined 2.9% to ₹2,147.3 amid broader weakness across segments.


Energy stocks were also under pressure. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation dropped 2.8% to ₹268.6, while Coal India fell 2.4% to ₹409.0.


In the FMCG space, Hindustan Unilever declined 2.3% to ₹2,353.6.


Heavyweight Reliance Industries traded 1.8% lower at ₹1,422.6, contributing to the benchmark’s fall.


Metal major Tata Steel slipped 1.8% to ₹204.3, while IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services fell 1.7% to ₹2,702.5.


Meanwhile, Power Grid Corporation of India declined 1.7% to ₹289.0.
