Bhopal. At present our engineers are the real incarnation of Lord Vishwakarma. The Public Works Department (PWD) has created a distinct and strong identity for itself on the basis of its work in the last two years. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said this while addressing the one-day capacity building workshop cum training program organized at Rabindra Bhawan on Thursday. This program was organized by Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation under the Public Works Department.

Promotion of innovations in PWD under PM Gati Shakti Yojana

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Public Works Department is continuously bringing innovations to the ground through PM Gatishakti Yojana. This has given a new impetus to the development of infrastructure and modern thinking is being adopted in construction works.

Construction work is not just brick and stone, it is a creative art.

Addressing the workshop, the Chief Minister said that construction is not just a combination of bricks and stones, but an innovative art. Long term planning, better approach and quality should be given priority in every construction work. He said that according to the needs of changing times, conceptual and qualitative approach has now become mandatory in every project. Quality should not be compromised at any level. For the overall development of the state, everyone will have to work with their full capacity and efficiency.

Consensus reached on Green Building Development

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that during this workshop, agreements have been made with various reputed institutions of the country including MPIDC. Consensus has been reached regarding green building development in the state. He congratulated the Public Works Minister and the department for these innovations and works.

Engineers got inspiration from the knowledge of Geeta

Addressing the engineers, the Chief Minister said that a beautiful coordination of knowledge and science has been described in the last chapter of Geeta, in which mind, intellect, ego and five elements have been explained. He said that this workshop is an important initiative towards accelerating the construction of modern and sustainable structures. Engineers of the Public Works Department have successfully carried out many major infrastructural development works including Sandipani Vidyalaya.

PWD plays an important role in road, bridge, stadium and building construction.

The Chief Minister said that most of the construction works like roads, bridges, stadiums and government buildings are done through the Public Works Department. Departmental engineers have to face many technical and administrative challenges during their work. In such a situation, training and workshops are necessary from time to time to increase their capacity.

MOUs signed with nationally reputed institutions

Training Calendar and Project Management Manual were released during the workshop. Also, PMS Portal 2.0 digital management system was launched with the presentation. On this occasion, MoUs were signed by Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation and Madhya Pradesh Building Development Corporation with the following reputed institutions-

• Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), New Delhi
• Indian Academy of Highway Engineers (IAHE), New Delhi
• Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad
• IIT Mumbai
• School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Bhopal

PMS 2.0 Digital Project Management System launched

Project management book, brochure and manual were released in the workshop. Along with this, Project Management System PMS 2.0 was formally launched by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. National level experts provided guidance on topics such as capacity building, green building concepts, modern construction techniques, quality control and innovation.
