Mumbai, 10 February. Prominent leader of NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) Amol Mitkari on Tuesday met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and strongly demanded a high-level inquiry into the death of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The plane crash that took place on January 28 has shaken the entire state and now the time has come to bring out the truth.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai after the meeting, Mitkari said that we met the CM along with all the NCP workers. The condition of the VSR flight was bad, no VIP should be given such a flight. Ajit Pawar was traveling in it and it crashed. We have demanded a high level investigation. CM said that CID is investigating, but Maharashtra has not yet recovered from the shock. All questions need clear answers.
Mitkari said Fadnavis himself looked very emotional as he lost his close friend and key ally of Mahayuti. CM assured to stand with Sunetra Pawar like a brother and promised a high level investigation. The mystery of Ajit Pawar’s death should now be solved.
Sharing his experiences, Mitkari said, I have traveled by air with Ajit Pawar about 12 times. He was very careful about flights. Checking the weather, checking takeoff conditions, many times postponing the journey. How did such a cautious person board that flight?
On Sharad Pawar’s statement that day, Mitkari said that he would have said this considering the circumstances at the time of the incident. The senior leader who lost his son tried to avert the ruckus. We understand, but now the truth needs to come out in front of everyone.
This demand is giving voice to the growing questions in the state. The investigation will not only reveal the truth but will also prevent such incidents in future. Maharashtra wants to remember Ajit Pawar with truth.
