Mumbai: Actor Govinda opened up about a scary incident that took place at his home late at night. Over 20 people attempted to enter his home, and the actor was forced to point his licensed gun at them. The incident came to light after his manager spoke to the media about it. Eventually, Govinda broke his silence and detailed the night.
Speaking to ANI, the actor said he initially thought they were coming for a party. “I first thought they were here for a party, but they didn’t seem like party people. So I captured their video,” said Govinda. At first, the actor tried contacting the Mumbai police. However, they were not responding. So he rang out cops of another country and stayed on line.
Govinda revealed that as the situation went out of hand, one of the intruders climbed onto the terrace. Immediately, he informed his contacts about the issue and decided to confront them with his gun. He asked them who they were.
The group remained silent until one stated that they were there to check the power. The actor, who was not satisfied with the answer, pointed the gun and asked them to leave his property immediately.
In the interview, Govinda claimed that he didn’t even try to find out who the intruders were. “That’s a waste of time. People divert their energy into thinking about all that,” said the actor.
Meanwhile, Shashi Sinha, the actor’s manager, in an earlier interview stated, “Thank god he had a gun with him the day he got attacked. He chased everyone away. Otherwise, god knows what would’ve happened to him. We also filed an FIR and have a video of what happened that night.”
In October 2024, Govinda was hospitalised after accidentally shooting himself on the foot.
