This time a big change is being seen in the mood of nature in Delhi-NCR. It is only the second week of February, but there are signs of departure of winter and arrival of summer. Now people have started packing heavy sweaters and jackets and are seen in light clothes on the streets of Delhi. The scorching afternoon sun has now started troubling people, which clearly shows that this year summer has arrived before time.

According to the latest data of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius by February 15. The mercury is slowly rising towards 30 degrees, which is higher than normal. An increase is also being recorded in the minimum temperature, which is expected to reach 13 degrees Celsius. Although there is still a slight coolness at night, the harsh winter is now a thing of the past.

The wind speed has also declined. The winds which were blowing at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour in the last 24 hours, have now reduced to 17 kilometers per hour. Due to the clear sky, the direct effect of sunlight has increased, due to which the feeling of heat in the afternoon has become more intense.

condition of Uttar Pradesh

There is a paradox in the weather of UP. On one hand, the heat is increasing in the areas adjacent to Delhi, while on the other hand, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of dense fog in 24 districts including Gorakhpur, Bareilly and Pilibhit. However, due to westerly winds the fog layer is thinning and visibility is expected to improve.

Rajasthan weather

The harsh cold in Rajasthan is now leaving. The sun’s intensity has become intense in western Rajasthan and a rise of 1 to 4 degrees has been seen in the maximum temperature. The weather is expected to remain dry in the state for the next one week.

Bihar and Jharkhand

Dense fog is still prevalent in northern parts of Bihar like Supaul and Muzaffarpur, due to which normal life is affected. At the same time, in districts like Ranchi and Hazaribagh of Jharkhand, the minimum temperature remains between 7-9 degrees, while the temperature has started increasing in the southern districts.

Himachal and Uttarakhand

According to Skymet Weather, two western disturbances are becoming active over the mountains on 9 and 16 February. Due to its impact, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand (like Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba, Uttarkashi and Chamoli).

But, the news for the plains is that now a U-turn from the harsh winter is not possible. The weather of North, Central and Eastern India will remain mainly dry. The effect of snowfall on the mountains will be limited only to a slight drop in temperature or coolness in the morning and evening.
