After winning the toss, England decided to bat first and made a strong score of 184 runs losing 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Jacob Bethel played a brilliant inning of 55 runs in 35 balls, while captain Harry Brook scored a quickfire 53 runs in 32 balls. For Nepal, Deependra Singh Airi and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each, while Sher Malla and Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket each.

Chasing 185, Nepal started with confidence. Kushal Bhurtel scored 29 runs, and Deependra Singh Airi played a brilliant inning of 44 runs to keep the required run rate under control. After this, captain Rohit Paudel played an important inning of 39 runs, due to which Nepal came in a strong position. In the final overs, Lokesh Bam electrified the stadium with an unbeaten 39 off just 20 balls, raising hopes of a memorable win.

The last three overs made the match exciting. Nepal needed 48 runs, and with the help of Bam’s aggressive batting, Nepal scored 22 runs in the 18th over and 14 runs in the 19th over, leaving only 10 runs needed in the last over. Sam Curran did not lose courage and won the match for England by giving just 5 runs.

Nepal scored 180 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs and lost by a small margin of just 4 runs. Nepal’s all-round performance in both batting and bowling surprised everyone.
