T20 World Cup 2026, SCO vs ITA: The 7th match of T20 World Cup 2026 was played between Scotland and Italy. In this match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, Scotland won by a huge margin of 73 runs. Batting first, he had set a target of 208 runs. Despite a good start, Italy were all out for just 134 runs. This was their first match in the history of T20 World Cup.
After losing the toss, Scotland came out to bat and gave a tough class to the Italian bowlers. The opening pair of George Munsey and Michael Jones batted till the 14th over and added 126 runs for the first wicket. The biggest hero of this partnership and Scotland’s innings was George Munsey, who contributed 84 runs by hitting 13 fours and 2 sixes in 54 balls.
The second wicket fell in the form of Michael Jones, he had scored 37 runs in 30 balls. Brendan McMullan, who came at number-3, scored 41 runs in 18 balls, in the end Michael Leask scored 22 runs in 5 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes, taking Scotland to the score of 207 runs.
Chasing the target of 208 runs, Italy had a very bad start, Justin Mosca was out without opening the account on the very first ball. Then on the score of 32, JJ Smits (22) went out, within the next 8 runs Anthony Mosca (13) was also out. Harry Manetti (37) and Ben Manetti (52) made a partnership of 73 runs for the fourth wicket, due to which Italy remained in the game till the 13th over. But after Ben’s dismissal in the 14th over, no batsman could stay at the crease for long. Italy lost its last 5 batsmen in a span of just 5 runs and the entire team was all-out on the score of 134.
