This is great news for students considering a career in fashion design. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new BSc Fabric and Apparel Design course. Students can study this course from home and get a chance to advance in the fashion industry.

This new IGNOU course is a four-year undergraduate program. It will be conducted in open and distance learning mode. The course will provide students with knowledge related to fashion design, textiles, and garment manufacturing.  Along with theory, full attention will be given to practical skills, making it easier for students to work in the industry.

Only students who have passed their 12th grade with Science subjects in English medium are eligible to apply for this course.  Additionally, candidates must have completed at least 3 to 6 years since passing their 12th grade to be eligible to apply.

The course fee is approximately Rs. 11,000 per year. The entire course will be worth 120 credits. The normal duration of this course is 3 years, while students will be given a maximum of 4 years to complete it. Examinations for this program will be conducted every year.

This course offers students a multiple exit option. This means that if a student wants to leave the course midway for any reason, they will not leave empty-handed. Upon completing one year of study, students will receive a UG Certificate. After two years, a UG Diploma will be awarded. Upon completing three years of study, students will receive a BSc degree. If students complete four years of study, they will be awarded a BSc Honours degree.

Students will be provided with both print and digital study materials for this course, so that they do not face any difficulties in their studies. Students can study offline using books at their convenience or through digital materials on their mobile phones, laptops, or tablets. This will give students living in remote areas the opportunity to receive a quality education.

After registering, candidates should log in, fill out the application form, and upload all the necessary documents in the correct format. Fill in all the required information.
