New Delhi: The reported suicide case of three minor sisters in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad has taken a new turn with probe revealing that their father, Chetan Kumar, has links to another suicide case from 2015.

New twist in the tale

Kumar, despite having two wives, reportedly resided with another woman, his live-in partner at that time. That woman fell from the roof of a flat in the Rajendra Nagar Colony in 2015 and died. The death was considered as a suicide, according to news agency PTI. However, officials are reportedly considering the 2015 case as part of the Ghaziabad probe to find out the children’s mental state.

What happened in the Ghaziabad suicide case?

In Ghaziabad, Pakhi (12) Prachi (14) and Nishika(16) died after jumping from the ninth floor of their apartment building last Wednesday. The reason, according to reports, was that their parents were against their gaming addiction and seized their phones. Many people in the residential complex reached the spot and took the girls to a hospital where they were declared dead.

Their father Kumar reportedly has three wives who are siblings. Notably, all of them lived together. Also, Kumar, a stockbroker, reportedly had a debt of Rs 2 crore. He even sold the mobile phones of his daughters to provide for his family. The girls did not go to school for two years due to financial issues and poor academic performance. Also, officials have found in the probe that the girls were obsessed with Korean entertainment, and also wrote about family discord in an eight-page pocket diary.
