Claude Opus 4.6 Launch: In artificial intelligence sector Anthropic Has taken another big step. The company has launched its new and advanced AI model Claude Opus 4.6. Anthropic claims that this model is more intelligent, more stable than before and capable of completing long and complex tasks without getting stuck. The special thing is that this AI can now process huge amounts of data and even long conversations without reducing performance. It has been specially made strong for software engineering, research and knowledge-based work.
The biggest upgrade to Claude Opus 4.6 is its 1 million token context window. Earlier, Opus models were limited to about 2 lakh tokens, due to which the grip of the model became weak while working on long files or large documents.
Now in the new beta version this limit has been increased almost five times. This means that AI will be able to better understand long research papers, legal documents, technical code and multi-step analysis simultaneously. The company specifically described this as a “long-horizon task” Optimized for.
In this new model, technology like context compaction has been added, due to which the system is kept updated by briefly replacing old information during long tasks. Additionally, Adaptive Thinking feature has been provided in it, where AI decides the depth of its thinking according to the complexity of the question.
The user can set the effort control according to his needs, thereby striking a balance between speed, understanding and cost. In agent-based tasks, this model can itself plan several steps and move the task forward, making automation and research more effective than before.
According to Anthropic, Claude Opus 4.6 can handle larger code repositories, perform better code review, and provide more accurate results in debugging. Through Claude Code research preview, it can also prepare an agent team for development. In internal benchmarks, the model outperformed previous versions and many competing AI models in areas such as finance, legal and computational biology.
The company says that safety has been given priority in the new model. “Deception” And additional tests and audits have been put in place to reduce risks such as over-consent.
Claude Opus 4.6 is available on websites, mobile and desktop apps, APIs, and major cloud platforms. The starting price of the API has been kept at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens.
