Riot Games has released a fresh update for 2XKO, focusing heavily on fixing bugs and smoothing out gameplay issues rather than shaking up balance. The patch comes as the game continues to grow following its full PC launch in October 2025 and its console debut on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 during Season 1. While fans are still debating cosmetic prices, Riot is making it clear that stability and core gameplay fixes are the current priority.
Riot developer Julian “JulezJP” Johnson made it clear that this update was never meant to match the scale of the Season 1 patch. Instead of balance tweaks or champion changes, the team focused on fixing critical bugs that could impact matches. Some of these fixes were so urgent that Riot quietly pushed out micropatches between major updates.
One of the most important fixes addresses a bug that allowed players to bypass the Limit Strike system using certain off-the-ground attacks. Limit Strikes are meant to cap combos in exchange for bonus damage and meter, but some champions, including Braum, were getting unintended advantages. Riot also fixed bugs that could break the in-game camera, make enemy champions briefly invisible when using Tag Launchers, or freeze the game after leaving Training mode idle. While no champions were directly adjusted, Riot hinted these fixes could slightly shift the current meta.
Alongside gameplay fixes, this 2XKO update introduces several quality of life improvements for online play. Players who wait out the character select timer without choosing will now receive the same penalty as quitting a match early. This change is meant to reduce dodging unfavorable matchups.
The game will also remember your last selected champions and Fuse choices. Players who want to jump into matches faster can now quickly confirm their previous loadout without reselecting everything. Additional fixes improve Champion Mastery progression display, reduce unfair disconnect penalties, fix controller issues in private lobbies, and correct text-to-speech narration errors across menus.
Despite the long list of fixes, one major issue remains. Screen tearing on console versions of 2XKO has not yet been resolved. Since the console launch in January 2026, players have reported horizontal tearing, especially on high refresh rate displays. The issue causes frames to appear misaligned, making the screen look split. Riot has acknowledged the problem in the Known Issues section of the patch notes, but no timeline for a fix has been shared yet.
For now, Update 1.1.2 signals Riot’s focus on tightening the foundation of 2XKO. Balance changes and champion adjustments are expected later, once the game’s core systems are fully stable.
