What took eighteen years for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to achieve the trophy in the Indian Premier League, the women's team took three years in the Women's Premier League to break the curse. In the 2024 WPL, they won their first-ever Premier League trophy irrespective of gender. In 2026, RCB won again, and their former captain in the men's team, Virat Kohli, showered the team with love and appreciation.
On his Instagram account, Virat Kohli penned an exceptionally long message for the team, specially appreciating the captain, Smriti Mandhana, for playing a crucial role in the team's title win. He wrote,
"Champions again 🏆⭐️⭐️. Keeping the RCB flag flying high and something that each one of you can be proud of. To Smriti Mandhana and the whole squad and the management team, a big congratulations for this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans Royal Challengers Bengaluru ❤️🏆"

Mandhana scored 87 runs off 41 balls, while Voll added 79 off 54.
Meanwhile RCB men's team mentor Dinesh Karthik also extended his heartiest congratulations for the team through a video on his Instagram account.

Mithali Raj lauds Mandhana for RCB win
RCB became the second team after the Mumbai Indians to win the trophy twice in the Women's Premier League. Not only that, with RCB Men winning the IPL trophy in 2025, currently the franchise holds both the trophies.
Amidst the excitement, former Indian team captain Mithali Raj extended her congratulations through her X account. She wrote,
“Big moments, big leaders. 🌟@mandhana_smriti stood tall on the biggest stage, with excellent support from Georgia Voll, as RCB Women clinched their second WPL crown."
However, amidst everything, Delhi Capitals, despite a change in captaincy, stood as persistent runners-up across all four seasons.
