'Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies' is not having a smooth run at the box office now. The film, which stars Roshan Mathew, Arjun Ashokan, Siddique, Lakshmi Menon and many others, has seen a big fall in its earnings by day 15. The movie collected only Rs 9 lakhs on this day.
The total India net collection now stands at Rs 15.78 crore, while the worldwide total is Rs 33.22 crore as reported by the Sacnilk website. The film had a strong start and people thought the Mammootty factor would help for a longer time, but now the collection graph is going down slowly day by day.
Day-wise numbers show the decline
When we look at the day-wise numbers, the fall becomes even more clear. Day 10 was Rs 45 lakhs and day 11 suddenly jumped to Rs 55 lakhs. But after that the numbers started slipping again.
Day 12 was Rs 10 lakhs, day 13 was Rs 15 lakhs. Day 14 was Rs 14 lakhs, and then day 15 is now Rs 9 lakhs. Even though the movie has collected well overseas with Rs 14.6 crore, the India numbers are slowing down more than expected.
Decent social media reactions Even with the drop in collections, the reviews on social media are still very sweet. Many people are calling it a fun action entertainer.
One person wrote, "An out and out action fun entertainer with an impressive story plot set on the backdrops of the Queen of the Arabian sea. The story in a nutshell is about a group of underdog friends who cherishes their childhood memories of wrestling by setting a similar ring in Mattancherry and entering into the hearts of their neighborhood." People seem to like the feel of friendship, fun and local flavour in the story. They also say the film gives a nice energy when all the boys come together.
Another person shared a long and happy note about the movie. They wrote, "Stunning performances by Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, Ishan, Vyshak, Dartagnan, Carmen, Lakshmi, Thesni Khan & Vedhika. Hats off to the technicians behind the screen especially the DOP Anend for capturing the action sequences spot on just like watching it live, crispy cuts by Praveen, brilliants sounds by Sankaran/ Sidharthan and exceptional action choreography by Kalai Kingson which holds the entire movie. The music by the legends Shankar Ehsaan Loy and Background scores by the main man Mujeeb Majeed just grooved with the action sequences and the mood of the story."
'Chatha Pacha' has already made a mark in the first weeks, and now everyone is waiting to see if it can climb up again in the coming days, especially on the weekend.
