Health Desk. Kidney is one of the most important organs of our body, which works to remove toxins from the blood and maintain the balance of water and electrolytes in the body. If the kidneys become weak, it can cause many serious health problems. Experts say that certain eating habits and foods can rapidly affect kidney health.
Here are those 4 things that need to be excluded from the diet:
1. Too much salt
Excessive salt intake can increase blood pressure and put extra strain on the kidneys. Processed foods, packaged snacks, and ready-to-eat foods are often high in salt. Experts recommend not to consume more than 5 grams of salt daily.
2. Sugar and sweetened drinks
Sweet drinks like sugar and soda can affect the kidneys. These not only increase the risk of obesity and diabetes, but can also affect kidney function. The hidden sugars in fruit juices and energy drinks are also worth noting.
3. Red meat and processed meat
Sausage, bacon and other processed meats contain high amounts of protein and sodium. Long-term consumption can put pressure on the kidneys and increase the risk of chronic kidney disease.
4. Excessive dairy and fatty foods
Whole milk, cheese and fatty foods put extra load on the kidneys. If the kidneys are weak, their intake should be limited. Light and low-fat dairy options are better.
