The wait is finally over for those who took the UGC NET exam, as the National Testing Agency has published the results for the December session. A total of 1,17,058 candidates have successfully qualified for a PhD.

The UGC NET December 2025 results were made public on February 4, 2026. Out of 7,35,614 candidates who took the exam, 5,108 were eligible for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor roles. Additionally, 54,713 candidates qualified for Assistant Professor positions and PhD admissions, while 1,17,058 candidates were deemed eligible solely for PhD.
Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the UGC NET December 2025 exam utilized a Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The exam spanned six days, covering 85 subjects across 11 shifts at 663 centers in 283 cities throughout India. A total of 9,93,702 candidates registered for the exam.
Among the registered candidates, women made up the majority, with 5,85,400 participants, accounting for approximately 58.91%. Male candidates numbered 4,08,245, representing about 41.08%, while 57 candidates identified as belonging to the third gender.
