Bad Bunny is all set and ready to take the world by storm as he performs for the first time at the Super Bowl halftime ceremony. Ahead of his historic performance, fellow Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and actor Ricky Martin sang nothing but praises for the artist.

Ricky Martin praises Bad Bunny Ricky Martin recently posted an open letter in the publication El Nuevo Día, talking about how proud he was of Bad Bunny and all that he has managed to achieve so far. The letter comes after the artist won three Grammy titles on Sunday, as well as ahead of his Super Bowl performance.

He wrote, “Benito, brother, seeing you win three Grammy Awards, one of them for album of the year with a production entirely in Spanish, touched me deeply. Not only as an artist, but as a Puerto Rican who has walked stages around the world carrying his language, his accent, and his story.”

He further added that he understood the sacrifices that Bunny had to go through in order to get where he is, especially without letting go of yourself as a person. He also shared that “That’s why what you have achieved is not just a historic musical accomplishment, it’s a cultural and human victory. You won without changing the color of your voice. You won without erasing your roots. You won by staying true to Puerto Rico .”

The singer also praised Bad Bunny for his speech being entirely in Spanish. He praised him for not trying to “soften the language” for everyone else, and how his speech demanded respect as the entire audience was silent and listening to him. He concluded the letter by adding, “From the heart, from one Boricua to another, with respect and love, I thank you for reminding us that when one of ours succeeds, we all succeed.”
