The Indian cricket team has received an important news in view of the T20 World Cup 2026. Young batsman Tilak Verma has returned to competitive cricket after successful surgery in the lower abdomen. While playing for India A, he has proved his fitness not only in batting but also in fielding and bowling. His return has reduced the concerns of the team management to a great extent.

Tilak showed strength in fitness test

Tilak Verma passed the team management test in the practice match held in Navi Mumbai on Monday. After completing a three-week ‘return to play’ protocol at the Bengaluru-based Center of Excellence, he did not show any discomfort on the field. His movements and shot selection while batting made it clear that he is completely match fit.

Excellent performance in all areas

Tilak played a brilliant inning of 38 runs in 24 balls, in which he hit brilliant sixes and fours against the left-arm spinners. He took an excellent catch in fielding and also took a wicket in bowling. This gives clarity to his all-round fitness level.

India A’s strong win, Jagadishan shines

Batting first, India A scored 238 runs for three wickets. Narayan Jagadishan attracted everyone’s attention by playing a brilliant inning of 104 runs in 55 balls. The US team struggled while chasing the target, but could only reach 200 runs. Leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi impressed the selectors by taking three wickets.

Possibility of change in the composition of Team India

With the return of Tilak Verma, a change in the batting order of Team India is expected. He may be given the number three role, which may make it challenging for Sanju Samson to retain his place in the team. Tilak’s fitness and form is a positive sign for the team in preparation for the T20 World Cup.
