Afghanistan vs Scotland: T20 World Cup will start from 7th February. Before this World Cup, all the teams have to play some warm-up matches. The warm-up match has started today from 2nd February. The first match of the warm-up was played between Afghanistan and Scotland. In which Afghanistan won by 61 runs.


In the first warm-up match of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 played at BCCI Center of Excellence Ground 1, the Afghanistan team won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Afghanistan team scored 184 runs losing 6 wickets in the stipulated overs. This team had lost the wickets of Gulbadin Naib (3) and Sediqullah Atal (6) by the score of 20.

From here, Darvesh Rasooli along with Ibrahim Zadran scored 82 runs in 54 balls for the third wicket and took the team beyond 100. Ibrahim returned to the pavilion after scoring 36 runs in 32 balls. His innings included 1 six and 2 fours. After this Rasooli took charge. He retired after scoring 84 runs in 46 balls with 5 sixes and 7 fours, while Mohammad Nabi contributed 34 runs in 16 balls to the team’s account. For Scotland, Brad Wheel and Mark Watt took 2 wickets each, while Brad Currie took 1 wicket.


Scotland team limited to 123 runs


In response, the Scottish team was reduced to just 123 runs in 19.3 overs. Scotland’s George Munshey made a partnership of 24 runs with Michael Jones in 4.3 overs. Munshe contributed 13 runs to the team’s account, after which Michael Jones scored 29 runs for the second wicket with Brendon McCullum, but after the breakup of the pair, the team disintegrated.
