Budget 2026-27: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in Parliament. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today’s budget is historic. This is a strong reflection of the women power of the country. As a woman Finance Minister, Nirmala ji has created a new record by presenting the country’s budget for the 9th consecutive time. This budget is a highway of immense opportunities. This budget realizes the dreams of the present and strengthens the foundation of India’s bright future. This budget is a strong foundation for our high flight of developed India by 2047.

PM Modi said, the reform express on which India is riding today will get new energy and new momentum from this budget. The path breaking reforms that have been done give open skies to the aspirational, adventurous and talented youth of India to fly. This budget reinvigorates India’s global role. India’s 140 crore citizens are not satisfied with becoming the fastest growing economy. We want to become the third largest economy in the world as soon as possible. This is the resolve of crores of countrymen.


He further said, India’s role as a trusted democratic partner and trusted quality supplier of the world is continuously increasing. Major steps have been taken in the budget to ensure that the youth of India and the small and medium scale industries of India get the maximum benefit from the big trade deals that India has done recently, the Mother of all deals. In this budget, an ambitious roadmap has been presented to give new momentum to Make in India and Self-reliant India campaign. The strength with which new emerging industries i.e. sunrise sectors have been supported in this budget is unprecedented.


Many big steps have been taken in this budget to strengthen the infrastructure. Dedicated front corridors, expansion of water ways across the country, high speed rail corridors, special focus on development of Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities and promotion of municipal bonds to provide a strong economic base to cities, all these steps will further accelerate the pace of travel to a developed India. He said that the biggest capital of any country is its citizens. Over the years, our government has made unprecedented investments in enhancing the capabilities of the country’s citizens. Our endeavor has been to continuously emphasize skill, scale and sustainability.


The PM further said, I am very happy that in this budget, concrete steps have also been taken to promote tourism, especially in the North-East. By strengthening the different states of India, the foundation of balanced development has also been strengthened in this budget. In our country, more than 10 crore women are associated with SHGs and this has been a very successful campaign. Creating a modern ecosystem of SHGs built and run by women has been given priority in the budget. The effort is to ensure that Goddess Lakshmi visits every home. Our government has always given top priority to India’s agriculture, dairy sector and fisheries. In this budget also, many important steps have been taken for the farmers involved in the production of coconut, cocoa, cashew and sandalwood.
