Amanda Holden has proclaimed herself part of the "Cotswolds family" following her investment in a rural retreat alongside husband Chris Hughes more than two decades ago.
The star made this declaration whilst addressing the "Cotswolds boom" - a phenomenon that has witnessed numerous famous faces relocating to the picturesque region in recent times, including the Beckhams, Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and most lately, Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z.
Anticipating that fellow Cotswolds dweller and Diddly Squat Farm owner Jeremy Clarkson might find this celebrity influx irksome, Amanda was eager to emphasise that the ex-Top Gear host "can't moan about me".
Whilst acknowledging that Americans descending on the region is "great for house prices", the Heart FM broadcaster told The Times: "I've been there nearly 20 years - my grandparents were from that area - before the Beckhams and Beyoncé.
"We wanted a weekend retreat and it's turned out to be a wonderful investment. [Jeremy] Clarkson can't moan about me because I'm technically Cotswolds family."
Despite Amanda's cheeky swipe at her television personality neighbour Jeremy, who acquired his farm in Chadlington back in 2008, the notoriously forthright broadcaster has actually dismissed suggestions about famous faces overrunning the Cotswolds.
Jeremy previously remarked in a clip circulated on TikTok by Yahoo News: "Everybody says the Cotswolds is being taken over by celebrities and you just think, I don't see them.
"We don't see them. I look out of my window in the morning – you don't see them.
"OK, they have got a house five miles away. It is like saying Fulham is being taken over," he added.
The Clarkson's Farm favourite continued to insist: "It still is a really nice part of the country, it hasn't been ruined and we're very, very lucky to live there."
Whilst Jeremy might not mingle with other celebrity Cotswolds dwellers, Amanda reveals she regularly socialises with fellow Britain's Got Talent panellist Simon Cowell, who has recently settled into his West Oxfordshire property alongside fiancée Lauren Silverman and their son Eric.
The mother-of-two confirmed speculation that Simon has become both her neighbour and workmate, disclosing that they meet up regularly thanks to his son's tight bond with her younger daughter, Hollie.
She shared with the publication: "I see him quite a lot and our children get on well. Eric [Simon Cowell's son] and Hollie are good friends."
