Johannesburg,  Feb 1: South Africa have received a significant lift ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with senior batter David Miller being declared fit and medically cleared to join the Proteas squad for the tournament starting next week.

Miller, who had been sidelined due to an adductor muscle strain sustained during the SA20 league, successfully passed a fitness test and is now available for selection. His return strengthens South Africa’s middle order and adds experience to a batting lineup that will be aiming for a deep run in the global event.

South Africa are placed in Group D alongside New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada, and the UAE, and are scheduled to begin their campaign on February 9 against Canada in Ahmedabad. The Proteas will also play warm‑up matches as they prepare for the tournament.
