This scheme is a kind of 'Universal Basic Income' scheme, in which the Government of India provides minimum income support to approximately 11 crore farmers in the country. Under this scheme, farmers receive an assistance amount of Rs 6,000 every year, which is given to them in 3 installments of Rs 2,000 each. Farmers receive this amount directly into their bank accounts through direct benefit transfer.

21 installments have been released
So far, 21 installments of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi have been released for farmers. This money was sent to their accounts by the Modi government at the center through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The first installment of 2025 came in February.

The 20th installment came in August 2025, while the 21st installment came on November 19, 2025. Now all eyes are on the 22nd installment. Last year, during the budget, the government increased the loan limit, keeping farmers in mind. The government increased the limit of the Kisan Credit Card from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This time, farmers are hoping for an increase in the amount of the Kisan Samman Nidhi.
