RRB Group D Vacancy: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a recruitment notification for 22,195 Group D posts in 2026. Candidates with ITI and 10th pass qualifications can apply online. The online application process has started. Interested and eligible candidates can apply on the official website rrbchennai.gov.in. The last date to apply is March 2, 2026. A total of 21,997 posts will be filled under this recruitment.

Eligibility Criteria for Application
Candidates must have passed the 10th standard to be eligible for this recruitment. Candidates with ITI, equivalent qualifications, or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT can also apply. Regarding the age limit, candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to the reserved categories as per the rules.

Application Fee
The application fee is Rs. 500 for General/EWS/OBC-NCL categories, of which Rs. 400 will be refunded upon appearing in the CBT exam. For SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-servicemen/Transgender/Minority/EBC categories, the fee is Rs. 250, which is fully refundable upon appearing in the CBT.

Selection Process
For Level-1 posts in the Railways, candidates are selected based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), document verification, and medical examination.

In the first stage, candidates have to appear for the CBT exam, which evaluates their knowledge and aptitude. Upon successful completion of the CBT, a PET is conducted to test physical fitness. The final selection is then determined based on document verification and medical examination.

Salary
Candidates selected for various Level-1 posts will be placed in Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix, with an initial salary of Rs. 18,000 per month. In addition, candidates will also receive other allowances and benefits as per Central Government rules, such as House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, and other benefits.
