Booking a holiday is exciting, but as we plan our trips we always want to know we are getting the best value for money. Many travellers now use online sites to book trips abroad rather than using travel agents.

It has given holidaymakers more flexibility to book at any time of day. However, an expert has warned that different times of day can see different prices for the same holiday. The price you pay for your trip may all boil down to the time you click book.

Travel expert Rob.onthebeach shares his own hacks on social media, and he claims to have found the cheapest time to book a holiday in 2026. Rob has looked through data everyday to figure out the cheapest and most expensive times to book a holiday, down to the very minute.

According to Rob's data, the most expensive time to book a holiday is between 9am and 10am. He explained: "Booking in those hours came in 30% more expensive than the cheapest hour of the day."

Revealing the cheapest hour, Rob shared it is actually early in the morning. Between 4am and 5am proved to be the best time to snap up a bargain.

Rob reasoned: "Overnight, airline pricing systems basically reset. The interest and the demand from the day before all drops off, prices return closer to their base level, then as the day goes on more searches, more clicks, more people just having a look, and prices start to creep back up again."

The expert admitted many of us would rather not set an alarm at 4am to book a holiday, so he also found the best time to book during sociable hours. He uncovered late evening, roughly between 8pm and 10pm is "noticeably" cheaper than the morning spike.

However, if you really want to grab a bargain, Rob found the time down to the very minute that worked out cheapest. Rob revealed: "The cheapest, single minute to book a holiday is 2:48am.

"Booking at that exact moment came out 60% cheaper." Despite his findings, Rob urged that booking at 2:48am won't make every single holiday "automatically 60% cheaper".

He added: "But the pattern is really clear, if you really want to save money on your holiday, the early hours beat the office hours every time."
