Navigating the breakdown of a marriage in the middle of a bright spotlight is never easy. Olivia Attwood, 34, has announced that she has sadly parted ways from her husband of two years, Bradley Dack, who she met a decade ago before her stint on Love Island. A source reportedly said that the separation was due to a "breach in trust on Bradley's side," and he has been spotted out since the news broke wearing his wedding ring, and it's been claimed he "wants her back".

The TV presenter has become the latest victim of the so-called 'Loose Women curse', which has seen more than a few of the panellists on the popular show go through a major split in the public eye. Olivia, who bravely managed to get back to work after just a couple of days of downtime after the news, is said to be "devastated" but has no intentions of dragging her husband through the mud publicly as they go through this tough time.

However, a PR expert has warned that try as Olivia might to keep the details of her breakup to herself, it will be hard to avoid the split becoming a "brand moment" for the "outspoken" TV personality.

PR to the stars, Mayah Riaz, tells the Mirror: "Breakups are always painful, but when you are a public figure like Olivia Attwood, they also become a brand moment whether you like it or not. The attention can feel intrusive, but it is also an opportunity to take control of the narrative before the narrative takes control of you.

"Olivia is already known for being outspoken, emotionally honest and relatable. That works in her favour here. The worst thing she could do is go silent for too long and allow speculation to fill the gap. A short, calm, dignified statement that sets the tone, followed by a period of selective openness on her own terms, would be the smartest route."

The communications experts adds that there is no need for Olivia to try and appear perfect amid the turmoil, but to remain authentic in the face of the adversity.

"The public do not expect perfection from her," explains Mayah. "They expect authenticity. If she leans into that, she strengthens her connection with her audience rather than weakens it. This is where her personality becomes an asset. She can speak about heartbreak in a way that feels real, not rehearsed."

The expert does believe, however, that Olivia is on the right track by holding back most of the details of what has gone on between her and Bradley behind closed doors, and that "restraint" will be key to "repositioning" her brand.

"From a PR angle, this is about repositioning. She will be shifting from 'part of a couple' to 'strong woman navigating a life change'. That narrative is incredibly powerful, especially for her predominantly female audience. It is the difference between being seen as a victim of a breakup and being seen as someone taking back control of her life.

"Having said this, she also needs to be very mindful of what she does not say. No public blame, no emotional oversharing in the early stages, and definitely no reactive social media posts. In high profile splits, restraint is often what earns the most respect."

If Olivia manages to weather this storm whilst staying restrained and authentic, Mayah believes that it could even boost her public profile in the long run, deepening the public's understanding of her story and identity, without veering into scandal.

"Long term, this could actually enhance her brand. Reality stars who successfully navigate public heartbreak often come out more relatable, more human, and with stronger audience loyalty than before. If handled correctly, this becomes part of her story, not a scandal attached to her name."

As Olivia navigates the public split, here's a look at her Loose Women colleagues who have also chosen to part ways with their husbands.

Ruth Langsford

Loose Women star Ruth Langsford became the fourth panellist on the ITV programme to end her marriage in recent years. Viewers were left shocked in 2024 when it was announced that the presenter, 65, had separated from her husband, Eamonn Holmes, 66, after a representative for the pair confirmed they were proceeding with divorce.

Ruth, who has been a fixture on Loose Women since 1999, did not immediately comment publicly on the break up. Nevertheless, supporters had expressed worry for the couple after reports of arguments and a notable absence of photographs together fuelled rumours.

One source remarked: "It's a very sorry tale. They are both so loved by the British public, they won over so many people on This Morning which they hosted for more than a decade."

The insider continued: "They were as close to Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan as you could get," reports MailOnline. Meanwhile, a friend of the couple told The Sun how they had grown apart in recent months as their professional obligations "took them in different directions".

In one television appearance, Ruth addressed her marriage and expressed how devastating it would be if it were to end. During a Loose Women episode, she admitted she would find it particularly difficult if Eamonn left her for someone her own age rather than someone younger.

Eamonn is now with a younger women - Katie Alexander, 44, and it's been reported that the pair have just purchased a new home together. The property in Northern Ireland will be "the perfect place to build a home with Katie, with no memories of anyone else. They can use it for weekend retreats," an insider told the Mail Online.

Linda Robson

Birds of a Feather favourite Linda, 67, revealed she and husband Mark Dunford had called time on their marriage during an appearance on Loose Women in 2023.

Following 33 years of marriage, the actress opened up to OK! magazine about their relationship ending, emphasising that no dramatic incident sparked the separation. Linda explained: "People do, sometimes, don't they? We never had that much in common. I'm very sociable. Mark never enjoyed that side of things."

The mother-of-three went on to reveal how their children had kept them united for so many years, with the actress eager to praise her former partner as "an amazing dad. "I've been sad about it, of course I have," she confessed. "But we had two lovely children together. But they're all grown up, living their own lives now. "Now, it's me and Dolly the dog. [But] I'm in a really good place. Work's good."

Jane Moore

Television presenter Jane Moore described her husband as remaining her "best friend" when she revealed their split during a live broadcast on the ITV daytime programme in 2022.

The 63-year-old panellist wed Gary Farrow in 2002, with the couple sharing daughters Ellie and Grace. Jane also serves as stepmother to Gary's eldest daughter Lauren.

Jane revealed the couple had decided to separate in 2021, but delayed the process after Gary suffered a broken leg. She explained they'd chosen to remain together for one final Christmas before officially parting ways in the new year.

During her appearance on the ITV programme, Jane disclosed: "So Gary and I are separating. But it's weird that it's out there [in public] because we've been processing it for about a year.

"We're both quite private people. We had discussed it last year... it was going to happen last year. And then he fell and broke his leg and, no, I didn't push him," she joked.

Discussing caring for her husband during his recovery, Jane concluded: "I have been sort of caring for him in that sense of the word. It's enabled us to sort of segue to process it first of all, and to sort of segue nicely into a really good friendship."

Coleen Nolan

Coleen Nolan confirmed her split from husband Ray Fensome after a decade of marriage in 2018. The presenter said she had battled "with every fibre of her being" to preserve the relationship.

In her Daily Mirror column, Coleen wrote: "I wanted to tell you first as I can hardly sit here and keep dishing out advice if I'm not being totally straight about what is going on in my own life.

"There is too much dividing me and Ray. We can't go back." She also described the "hellish" 12 months of relationship struggles the pair had endured. "The last 12 months have been pretty hellish. I've been honest on Loose Women for a while that Ray and I have been having problems and it's all I thought about in the Big Brother house."

For three years Coleen recently dated Michael Jones, who she reportedly met on Tinder, but the pair went their separate ways in late 2024.

Andrea McLean

Andrea, 56, who became part of Loose Women in 2007, separated from her second husband, builder Steve Tom, in 2012. In a heartbreaking interview, the former GMTV weather presenter told the Mirror: "Steve and I had grown apart and we both knew it. We'd tried so many times to make it work, but it was hopeless."

She went on: "I had hoped we'd be together for ever, I insisted I wouldn't make the mistakes I made in my first marriage and I wrote about how my heart would lift with love when I saw his name flash up on my phone. And I really meant it. I tried for a year to save our marriage. I tried so hard.."

Tragically for Andrea, the subject of failing marriages became a discussion point on her Loose Women programme, as she confessed she found it difficult to cope. Speaking about presenting the show, she revealed: "On my first Loose Women show of the New Year the topic was, 'Why do marriages break down at Christmas.' I just wanted to burst out crying, but somehow I got through.

"I'd kept my marriage problems to myself and only Sherrie Hewson saw through my brave face. But I've explained everything now and I know the ladies will all be there for me." Andrea is now happily married to Nick Feaney, with the pair tying the knot in 2017.
