Lucknow. Yogi government has taken a big administrative decision to rapidly advance the development projects in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions in the high level meeting of the Finance Department to make the financial approval process of projects simple and effective. Under this, now the power to approve projects up to Rs 50 crore has been given directly to departmental ministers.

As per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Finance Minister will approve the projects costing Rs 50 crore to Rs 150 crore, while the projects costing more than this will get the final approval from the Chief Minister level only.

The decision will speed up the pace of development plans

The government believes that this new system will eliminate unnecessary delays in files and development works will be able to get green signal on time. This will especially give impetus to projects to road construction, building construction and infrastructure. The Chief Minister also clarified that like the roads of the Public Works Department, now five years maintenance guarantee will be mandatory in the construction of government buildings also. This will help maintain construction quality and ensure safe structures in the long run.

Action plans will be approved on time

In the meeting, the Chief Minister directed all the departments to get their annual action plan approved by April 15 under all circumstances. If the cost of a project increases by more than 15 percent, it will be mandatory to seek re-approval by explaining the reasons to the concerned department.

Government’s focus on financial reforms

Citing the reports of NITI Aayog and RBI, it was told in the meeting that there are signs of continuous improvement in the financial condition of Uttar Pradesh. The progress on digital reforms in treasury, budget management and pension system was also reviewed. The Chief Minister stressed on effectively implementing third party audit and new classification system to maintain the quality of construction works.
