The demand for planes has increased somewhat in some countries of the world. It is being estimated that India and South Asia are on top in this matter. For information, let us tell you that Boeing has estimated in its ‘Commercial Market Outlook’ that by the year 2044, India and South Asia will need about 3,300 new aircraft.

This estimate was presented during the ‘Wings India 2026’ summit held in Hyderabad, where Boeing Managing Director Ashwin Naidu said that India will see a four-fold increase in aircraft fleet in the next 20 years. Of these, 90% i.e. 2,875 aircraft will be ‘single-aisle’ or narrow-body jets, while 395 aircraft will be wide-body.

According to Boeing, with this growth there will be a huge demand for skilled staff in the aviation sector. Not only this, in the next 20 years the sector will require 45,000 pilots, 45,000 technicians and 51,000 cabin crew members.

India and South Asia will see an average 7% annual increase in air passenger numbers due to a growing middle class and strengthening economies. Additionally, there will be a need to invest more than $195 billion in aviation services such as maintenance and training. The air cargo market will also grow due to the expansion of manufacturing and e-commerce, and the fleet of cargo aircraft will increase five times.
