Novak Djokovic had a huge slice of luck at the Australian Open, as his quarter-final opponent, Lorenzo Musetti, retired while cruising in the pair's last-eight clash. The Italian had been two sets up and looked as if he had one foot in the semi-final when he retired hurt, giving Djokovic a free pass into the semis.


It's not the way Djokovic would've imagined progressing to the Australian Open semi-final, but how pivotal will that prove to be come the end of the tournament? It's Jannik Sinner up next, with a prospective final against one of Carlos Alcaraz or Alexander Zverev.


In the women's draw, pre-tournament favourite Aryna Sabalenka is still on course to reach three consecutive Australian Open finals, with Elina Svitolina her opponent in the semi-final.
