I want to thank you all for listening to me for so many years and giving me so much love. I am happy to announce that I will no longer be taking up any new assignments as a playback vocalist. Now I'm going to end it. It has been a wonderful journey. His announcement created a stir in the entire music industry. His fans also got a big shock after hearing this news.

Arijit Singh gave the reason why he left playback singing

After announcing his decision to leave playback singing, Arijit Singh shared a post explaining why he was leaving it. He also told in the post that there is not just one but many reasons behind his move. He wrote- 'There is no single reason behind this but there are many reasons and I was trying to do this for a long time and finally now I was able to muster the courage'. He told- 'One reason was that I get bored very quickly, so I sing the same songs in different ways and perform on stage. One thing is that I am bored, I need to do some new music to live. Another reason is that I am excited for other singers to come forward and provide motivation. While sharing his future planning, he said- 'I am going back to Indian classical music. I want to get back into making music and start my journey again. I am a fan of good music and want to learn a lot as a small artist in the future. I will complete whatever assignments I have and will never stop making music.

Arijit Singh started his career in 2005 by participating in the reality show Fame Gurukul. He debuted in Hindi cinema in 2011 with the song Phir Mohabbat.. from the film Murder 2. He got recognition from the song Tum Hi Ho.. from the 2013 film Aashiqui 2. He has received the National Award for Best Singer twice for the song Binte Dil.. from Padmaavat (2018) and the song Kesariya.. from Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva (2022).
