Phulera Dooj 2026: There are some festivals in Hindu religion which are not only to faith, but are also considered very special for the beginning of a new chapter of life. Phulera Dooj is one such holy day, which is associated with the loving activities of Lord Shri Krishna and Radha Rani. It is believed that from this day the joy of Holi festival starts in Braj land. Phulera Dooj is counted among the most auspicious days of the year, because this entire day is Abujh Muhurat, that is, there is no need to look for a separate Muhurat for any auspicious work.


Phulera Dooj means “day of flowers”. According to mythology, on this day Lord Krishna played Holi of flowers with Radha Rani. This is the reason why this festival has special significance in Braj region. In Mathura, Vrindavan and nearby temples, the idols of Radha-Krishna are decorated with flowers and devotees celebrate by offering gulal. This day is considered especially best for marriage. It is believed that there is no fault of any kind in a marriage done on this day. This day is very beneficial for those who are facing obstacles in their marriage.

According to the Hindu calendar, Phulera Dooj is celebrated on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Phalgun month. In the year 2026, Dwitiya Tithi will start on 18th February at 4.57 pm and will end on 19th February at 3.58 pm. Since Dwitiya Tithi will be present at the time of sunrise on the morning of 19th February, hence the festival of Phulera Dooj will be celebrated on this day.


Auspicious time of Phulera Dooj 2026


Although the day itself is considered extremely auspicious, there are some special times which are considered even more auspicious.
Auspicious time: 6.56 am to 8.21 am
Char Muhurta: 11:10 am to 12:35 pm
Profitable time: 12:35 pm to 2 pm
During these times, taking decisions to marriage, engagement, housewarming or business gives special results.


Phulera Dooj puja method


On the day of Phulera Dooj, take bath in the morning and wear clean clothes. Decorate the idol of Radha-Krishna in your home or temple with flowers. Offering Poha or white sweets to God is considered auspicious. Offer Abeer-Gulaal and apply Tilak yourself. Chanting the mantra “Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya” or chanting the hymns of Radha-Krishna gives peace to the mind. Donating makeup items on this day brings happiness and prosperity in marital life.
