Maulana Saif Abbas, President of Shia Markazi Chand Committee has condemned the incident that happened with Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj. Maulana Saif Abbas said that Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati Maharaj is a respected and prestigious religious personality throughout India. This kind of behavior towards them is extremely condemnable and unfortunate, which has hurt religious sentiments.

He said that such behavior towards any religious guru is against the tradition of social harmony and mutual respect. Maulana Saif Abbas has demanded from the government that this entire matter should be seriously reviewed and if any mistake or inappropriate step has been taken by the district administration, then appropriate action should be taken. Maulana Saif Abbas reiterated that India is identified by respect for all religions and mutual brotherhood. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to maintain it.
