Alexander Zverev jokingly told an Australian Open reporter 'you can go home now' in a wild on-court interview, before claiming her husband has agreed to them both having their hair cut off if he wins the tournament this year. Sascha was in fine form both on and off the court on Friday, as he secured a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Cameron Norrie, before delivering a remarkable interview.
When asked by Barbara Schett if he was happy with his performance, the German cracked a wry smile as he said: "Yeah, why not? To be honest, the last two matches I thought were fantastic matches. Both opponents challenged me, but they challenged me because they were playing really good tennis. Always up for the task today, Cameron; I thought, probably played the best match that we've ever played level-wise. Happy with the win and happy to move forward."
Asked if there was one thing he was proud of from the match, Zverev then added: "I actually thought I was serving bad...I thought I was hitting my forehand quite big and quite well, so moving forward I think that's the shot that's going to make me win or make me lose. If I'm hitting it that way and if I feel confident in that shot, it's always very important."

It was then that the interview started to take a bit of a strange turn, as his brother, Mischa, was brought into conversation. When asked by Schett if his sibling - who was sat in his box - deserved a bit of credit for his win over Norrie, Zverev explained that he doesn't step on the court with him any more. When asked why, he told Schett to ask him.
When Schett said he was too far away, Zverev swiped the microphone and said: "I'll run to him," as he jogged over to the side of the court, prompting laughs from the crowd. Arriving at his brother, he turned back to Schett and joked: "So you're done today, you can go home. It's fine."
He then asked his brother why he "hates" playing tennis with him, to which, Mischa replied: "Because I destroy your rhythm, I shank too many balls," before Zverev asked: "But isn't it the opposite then, if you shank too many I have to have perfect rhythm on the court?"
Mischa then added: "But what if you don't, then it's my fault?" before Zvered added: "But if I lose it's going to be your fault anyways." Wrapping up, Mischa added: "You're right, it's a lose-lose for me, but you're doing well, so we keep it that way."
Schett then returned to Zverev before coaxing him back to the court to finish off her interview, highlighting a "deal" the two made with one another a couple of months ago in Vienna. She said: "That's one thing I have to address - we saw each other a couple of months ago in Vienna at the tournament and we made a little deal. Do you want to talk about it?"
Zverev then replied: "If I win the Australian Open, we are both cutting our hairs," before Schett was quick to reply: "That's not true. He is cutting his hair. You are cutting your hair, it's a deal?"
Sascha then suggested that Schett decides his haircut and he decides hers, before she added: "I'll have to think about that. Keep on winning Sascha, congratulations!"
Zverev then joked: "I asked your husband (Josh Eagle - who is a player-turned-pundit), he's fine with it," as Schett laughed: "I'm not so sure about that. To be continued."
The German will now face Francisco Cerundolo, who pulled off an impressive straight-sets victory over Andrey Rublev, in the fourth round on Saturday.
