Yamuna Cruise Experience in Delhi

Yamuna River Cruise in Delhi: Starting in February 2026, residents of Delhi will have the opportunity to enjoy a cruise experience reminiscent of Goa. This initiative is part of the Delhi government's plan to enhance riverfront tourism and recreation, featuring a cruise route along the Yamuna River from Wazirabad to Sonia Vihar. With an investment of around ₹20 crore, this project aims to provide an eco-friendly travel option while improving connectivity along the river. Let's delve into the details...

Launch Date of the Cruise Service
The anticipated launch of the Yamuna River cruise service is set for February 2026, potentially inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.

Capacity and Experience
This round trip cruise, covering the distance from Wazirabad to Sonia Vihar, will last approximately one hour and can accommodate around 40 passengers at a time. Guests can expect a delightful and luxurious experience at reasonable prices, complete with food, entertainment, and music options.

Safety Measures in Place
Safety is a top priority for the authorities overseeing the river cruise. Essential safety gear, including life jackets and a public announcement system, will be provided to ensure passengers are well-informed in any situation.

Additional Amenities
To enhance passenger convenience, the government plans to establish various facilities along the riverbank, including parking and recreational areas, ensuring easy access to the cruise and a pleasant experience. Notably, this section of the Yamuna is being developed under National Waterway-110, which spans approximately 1,080 kilometers from Jagatpur in Delhi to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. The government aims to promote cruise tourism along about 4 kilometers of this waterway, featuring electric and solar hybrid boats for a sustainable experience.
