Moises Henriques, captain of the Sydney Sixers, has finally put to rest the talks of a Smith-Babar run-in during a Big Bash League match. The incident took place during a clash with the Sydney Thunder, when Babar was seen to be angry after Smith denied him a simple single to long-on, after which Babar himself proceeded to smash the boundary skirtings on the very next ball after his dismissal.
The incident happened in the eleventh over of Sixers' chase. With the pair having already put on an opening stand of more than 100 runs chasing 190, Babar had driven the last ball of the over out to long-on. Astonishingly, Smith declined the run and retained the strike for the forthcoming over. Babar appeared rather confused and then showed his frustration on the way back.
The commentators questioned Henriques about the incident between Babar and Smith after Babar had taken quite a stunning catch in the Qualifier 1 match against the Scorchers:
Commentator:
“Babar is up to the fantastic catch. There was a lot made of Smithy and him the other day and the power play. What took place in the sheds from your perspective?”
Henriques answers:
“Look, it took a couple of days for that to settle down. To be honest, I think it's just a bit of a misunderstanding of culture of each other, to be honest. You know, it's a pretty common thing in our culture and maybe, you know, for him, he just, he wasn't used to it and didn't quite understand. And once it was explained to him, he was absolutely fine, you know, it's two of the greats back friendly again.”

Then, the commentators asked whether Henriques had done anything to help the situation:
Question:
“Did you play a role as skipper in that or not? Post game?”
Henriques responded:
“Yeah. Oh, absolutely. And so did Shippy. You know, always trying to understand what, we could visibly see he was quite upset with what happened on the field. So we needed to try and understand what, you know, why he felt that way. So once we got to the bottom of it, it was okay.”

Sixers Gain Edge After Restricting Scorchers to 147
In that same Qualifier, the Sixers were proud after putting a hold on the Perth Scorchers to a score of 147. Finn Allen started off good but after his dismissal, Perth collapsed from 67/1 to 87/5. Jhye Richardson provided some late assistance, but Ben Dwarshius and the others remained tight. The target seemed to be on the short side and it put the Sixers at an advantage at the break.
