‘ Yeh Risht Kya Kehlata Hai ’ starts off with Abhira and Armaan talking about Meher’s case. Armaan refuses to see the video that Abhira has brought. He argues that he does not wish to watch someone force himself on Meher. Abhira insists that they should watch the video and listen to the audio. However, after the audio plays, the couple realizes.



Armaan insists that Anita liedThe couple’s argument continues as Armaan continues to tell Abhira that Anita may have been lying to her. He said that she took advantage of her trusting nature to bend the truth. Abhira disagrees, saying that Anita wouldn't lie about something like this and then also leave her daughter in Abhira’s care. Abhira tells Armaan that he does not trust her and makes him promise that no matter what, he will let her continue the investigation.



Meher signs the case papersMittal comes over to the house to talk about the case with Armaan. He expresses his and Meher's sorrow for everything and announces that she has signed the papers. This means that her murder case can be reopened. The action shocks both Armaan and Abhira. He also brings a gift for Vani and apologizes for ruining Maira ’s birthday party and causing drama in the family over the case.



As Abhira leaves, Armaan accepts the gift and says that he will give it to Vani.



Abhira has to choose between Vani and MairaVani tells Abhira that she is not feeling well, so she gives her attention and cares for her. Seeing all of this, out of jealousy, Maira also lies and says that she wants her mother, as she is not feeling well herself. Abhra struggles to choose and care for the two of them together. Maira then confronts her mother about the recent events. She accuses her of leaving her alone during Makar Sankranti festivities, and even asks what could be more important than her.



Armaan finds out about this and asks Abhira to stay with Maira because of her stomachache. When she tells him that Vani also has a high fever, he tells her to go check on her while he stays with their daughter.



Kaveri and Vidya interveneBoth Kaveri and Vidya feel bad after seeing Armaan and Abhira divided between Vani and Maira. As Abhira cooks something for the girls in the kitchen, the two come and confront her about everything. They ask her to withdraw the case and see what it is doing to their family. Abhira refuses, saying that the truth has to be revealed and that justice has to be served.



When she tries to ask them for their support and help in taking care of Vani and Maira, they refuse, saying that Maira may feel betrayed. Abhira decides to take care of both of them.



The episode comes to an end as Armaan insists that he tell a story to Maira in order to help her sleep. She, however, refuses completely, though agrees as soon as Abhira comes back and offers to do it instead.
