Nearly six months after the sudden death of actor and television personality Shefali Jariwala, her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, has shared deeply personal reflections about her final days.
In a recent interview, Parag said he believes something “unexplainable” may have affected Shefali before her passing, adding that he suspects black magic was involved. The claim reflects his personal belief and has not been supported by any official findings.
Shefali Jariwala, best known for her breakout appearance in the remix hit Kaanta Laga, died on June 27 last year at the age of 42. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by Parag but was declared dead on arrival. Initial reports suggested cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
Speaking on Paras Chhabra’s YouTube podcast, Parag said he strongly believes that negative forces may have played a role in what happened to his wife. Acknowledging that many people do not share his views, he said his belief comes from personal experiences during Shefali’s final days.
He claimed that he sensed something was “not right” on more than one occasion and felt the situation was more intense the second time. Parag added that he increased his prayers during that period, stating that he could sense something was wrong even by being close to her. He did not name or accuse any individual.
It is important to note that these statements reflect personal faith and grief, and there is no medical or investigative confirmation supporting such claims.
Following Shefali’s death, several media reports suggested that she may have passed away after taking anti-ageing medication on an empty stomach. Parag later addressed these claims, calling them “half-baked information.”
He clarified that while Shefali had observed a fast that day, she had eaten food after performing pooja and again later. He urged people to verify facts before spreading speculation and misinformation around her death.
Shefali Jariwala rose to fame in the early 2000s with Kaanta Laga and later became a familiar face on Indian television. She participated in popular reality shows such as Nach Baliye and Bigg Boss 13, where her presence was widely appreciated.
Shefali and Parag Tyagi met in 2010, dated for four years, and got married in 2014. Parag has continued to speak openly about his loss, highlighting the emotional toll of her sudden passing.
