Lucknow, 17 January. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is working diligently in changing the picture of aspirational development blocks. Development is now coming out of paper and is visible on the land of villages. In many backward and aspirational development blocks of the state, concrete changes have been made in education, health, nutrition, energy, skills and basic facilities by making good use of the incentive funds received from the Central and State Governments. The result is that areas that once struggled with infrastructure are now emerging as inspiring development models.

It is clear that the Yogi government has taken the aspirational blocks forward in the direction of result-based development. Extensive development work is being done with the incentive funds being received by the development blocks. In this sequence, Astronomy Lab has been constructed in two upper primary schools in Majhgawan development block of Bareilly to develop the creative ability and scientific thinking of the students. This provided an opportunity to connect rural children with modern science. A library was constructed in Nyaya Panchayat Gaini for the educational development of students.

In Majhgawan (Bareilly) itself, a mini stadium and open gym were constructed in Gram Panchayat Behta Elderly from the point of view of physical and social development. This initiative is an important step towards connecting rural youth with sports and encouraging a drug-free, healthy lifestyle. Good utilization of incentive amount was also seen in Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Wazirganj development block of Badaun, where CC road and boundary wall were constructed keeping in mind the safety and convenience of the girl students. This reflects the thinking of the Yogi government, in which ‘daughter’s safety and education’ has been given top priority.

Similarly, 10 kilowatt capacity rooftop solar panel system has been installed on the development block office building in Sohaon development block of Ballia. This has not only reduced the electricity expenditure but has also promoted the green energy model in government offices. Targeted investment has been made in areas such as health and nutrition, drinking water, human resource development and skill upgradation in the aspirational blocks. The schemes are being implemented with special focus on indicators to pregnant women, children and adolescent girls, so that along with social development, the Human Development Index also improves.

This change visible in the aspirational development blocks is the result of the good governance, transparency and monitoring based model of the Yogi government. Here the incentive amount has been used not only for construction, but also keeping in mind sustainable benefits, community participation and future needs. Today, these aspirational blocks of Uttar Pradesh are giving the message that if government money is spent with proper planning, honest implementation and clear vision, then the same area can become an example of inspiring development. This model of Yogi government seems to be becoming a role model not only for the state but also for other states of the country in the coming times.
