The minimum temperature in the northern districts dropped by two to three degrees Celsius in the past few days due to the continuous rainfall. However, the weather department stated that these districts are not likely to witness rain at least till January 20. It further stated that several regions are likely to witness fog in the early hours, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. The IMD has advised the residents of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies in the upcoming week.
Chennai Weather Update
The weather department has stated that the capital city is not likely to witness rain for the next two to three days. However, it further clarified that the rain is likely to return after January 22 in Chennai and other nearby cities. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 31 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 20 degrees Celsius. The residents are set to witness cloudy skies and moderate wind for the next few days. Apart from this, the presence of fog in the morning hours is also likely to trouble the residents.
The IMD stated that light rains occurred in several regions, including Uthu and Nalumukku in the Tirunelveli district on Saturday. The minimum temperature has dropped by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in a few northern districts in the last 24 hours. The weather department informed that the highest temperature was recorded in Erode district at 32.6 degrees Celsius.
The IMD on Saturday stated that several regions of Karnataka and Telangana are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.
