Prabhas' starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ has been performing poorly, given the box office-dominating record a Rebel Star film has had in recent years. The film, directed by Maruthi, which was released with a lot of hype and anticipation, has been struggling to make a mark at the box office. Latest estimates suggest that on 8th day, the film went on to make Rs 3.50 crore.
The fall can be clearly seen in the daily numbers. According to trade analyst Sacnilk, on Day 1, Friday collected Rs 53.75 crore. Day 2 added Rs 26 crore. Day 3 earned Rs 19.1 crore. Day 4 dropped to Rs 6.6 crore. Day 5 made Rs 4.8 crore. Day 6 saw Rs 5.35 crore. Day 7 collected Rs 5.5 crore. Now on Day 8, the film added only Rs 3.50 crore. After eight days, the total stands at Rs 133.75 crore. The film is far from the Rs 200 crore mark. Even Prabhas flops like ‘Adipurush’ and ‘Saaho’ did good business.
Theatre occupancyOccupancy numbers show the same worry. In Telugu, the overall occupancy on Friday was 34.88%. Morning shows were just 21.57%. Afternoon shows saw 37.57%. Evening shows were better at 43.54%, and night shows dipped again to 36.85%. In Hindi, the picture is worse. Overall occupancy was only 7.45%. Morning shows were 4.56%. Afternoon shows were 8.16%. Evening shows stayed at 7.96%. Night shows touched 9.10%.
