Ever since publicly confirming that he and Rihanna are dating in 2021, A$AP Rocky has been extremely open about their relationship . In a recent interview, while he talked about the ‘We Found Love’ singer, he revealed who the one person was that pushed him to pursue the relationship and how grateful he is to them.

During one of the segments of the show, Rocky revealed that it was his mother who pushed and inspired him to pursue a relationship with Rihanna.



He revealed that she told him that “mothers know best” and that she saw something special in the relationship. Getting candid about everything, he added, “My mother used to say s--t like, ‘I know you like this girl that you with right now, But I want you with Riri.’ I used to be like, ‘Ma why you keep saying that? That girl don’t even want me like that. Like be cool, Ma. Like that’s just my friend. Chill.”



He recalled that his mother also used to tell him that Rihanna is the “real one” and that he should not give up on the relationship without trying.

Talking about being with Rihanna, the rapper cited, “It was just like we were on the same page.” He added that the two are of the same age, his father is from her country, and many other things, all of which helped them bond and develop a relationship over time.



“I’m thankful that she was put in my life at that time, because I think any time prior to that, I don’t think I was ready for something like that. I don’t think she was either,” Rocky recalled, sharing that their love happened at the right time, and that neither of them could have handled their friendship turning into something like that before it did.



Rihanna and A$AP Rocky share three children: RZA, their oldest, who is 3 years old, Riot, who is 2 years old, and Rocki, who is only 3 months old. They first collaborated on one of Rihanna’s song remixes.
