Vidarbha has made it to the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025-26 season. Vidarbha destroyed the challenge of Karnataka in the semi-final match played on Thursday. Karnataka, batting first at BCCI’s Center of Excellence Ground 1, scored 280 runs, which Vidarbha easily achieved by losing 4 wickets with 22 balls remaining. With this victory, Vidarbha also took revenge for the defeat in last season’s final.


 


The hero of Vidarbha’s victory was opening batsman Aman Mokhade, who played an outstanding inning of 138 runs in 122 balls with the help of 12 fours and 2 sixes. He was awarded the Player of the Match award. During his innings, Mokhade equaled the world record for scoring the fastest 1000 runs in List-A cricket. South African batsman Graeme Pollock also took 16 innings to score 1000 List-A runs. Mokhade also achieved this milestone in just 16 innings.

Mokhade, who is celebrating his 25th birthday today (January 16), has reached the top in terms of scoring the most runs in the current season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. So far he has scored 781 runs in 9 innings at an average of 97.62. Mokhade overtook Devdutt Padikkal of Karnataka by scoring a century in the semi-finals. Padikkal finished the tournament with 725 runs.

These big records are the target of fraudsters


Right-handed batsman Mokhade has scored 5 centuries this season. This is the joint record for most centuries in a single edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. If Mokhade is successful in scoring a century in the final too, then he will alone occupy the number-1 position, surpassing N Jagadeesan (5 centuries) and Karun Nair (5 centuries). Mokhade also has a chance to make the record of scoring most runs in one edition. He is 51 runs away from the record of N Jagadeesan (830 runs).
