Kal Ka Mausam: The Meteorological Department has issued a new tension-raising alert for the people hoping for relief from the cold wave and severe cold in the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), after the next 72 hours, rain warning has been issued in a total of 8 states of the country including 6 states of North India. Along with this, the severe cold wave in 15 cities is going to increase the problems of the people.


However, considering the possibility of snowfall in the hilly states, this news is being considered a relief for the tourists. The Meteorological Department has advised people to remain alert.


Rain alert in these 8 states

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh between January 16 and 20. There may be rain and snowfall in many areas of Uttarakhand also.


Apart from this, there are chances of rain in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh during January 18 to 20, while on January 19 and 20, there may also be rain in Western Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan. There has been a warning of light to moderate rain with thunder in Lakshadweep on January 14.


Cold will increase again in Delhi

There is a possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR between January 18 and 20. Due to rain, the temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The temperature is likely to be 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in the morning and night between January 15 and 17. During this period, cold winds will also blow at a speed of 10 to 15 km per hour.


Double effect of rain and cold wave in Uttar Pradesh

An alert of moderate to heavy rain has been issued in Uttar Pradesh between January 18 and 20. Along with this, a warning of severe cold wave has been given in Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Agra, Mathura, Meerut, Noida, Jhansi, Bareilly and Aligarh on January 15. The maximum temperature in the capital Lucknow is expected to be 17 degrees and minimum 8 degrees Celsius.


Severe cold and fog in Bihar

Severe cold will continue in Bihar on January 15. There has been a warning of dense fog and cold wave in the morning. Dangerous cold wave alert has been issued in Patna, Siwan, Buxar, Bhojpur, Saran, East and West Champaran, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, Araria, Khagaria, Darbhanga and Madhubani.


Cold will increase due to snowfall in Himachal

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall for 5 consecutive days from January 16 to January 20 in Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, a drop of 1 to 2 degrees can be recorded in the temperature. There are chances of snowfall in Manali, Lahaul-Spiti, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. The maximum temperature in Manali can go up to 2 degrees and the minimum can go up to minus 12 degrees Celsius.


Effect of cold wave in Uttarakhand

The cold is going to become more intense in Uttarakhand on January 15. The temperature in Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Lansdowne, Nainital and Dhanaulti may fall by 1 to 2 degrees. A warning has been issued of cold wave in the morning. The maximum temperature in Nainital is expected to be 16 and minimum 4 degrees Celsius.


Rain and fog alert in Rajasthan

Trouble may increase due to rain in Rajasthan on 19 and 20 January. Cold wave alert has been issued in Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Ajmer, Sikar and Bikaner. Whereas a warning of dense fog has been given in Churu, Sriganganagar, Bharatpur and Alwar.


Shivering cold in Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, the temperature is likely to be below 5 degrees Celsius in Chitrakoot, Naugaon, Morena, Khajuraho and Karaundi on January 15. Cold winds in the morning can make people shiver. The maximum temperature in Bhopal is expected to be 22 and minimum 8 degrees Celsius.
