Prabhas’ The Raja Saab is witnessing a sharp decline at the box office, with the film struggling to recover after a disappointing first Monday. On day 4, the Maruthi-directed film earned just ₹6.60 crore net in India, marking a steep 65% drop compared to its opening day collections.

The downward trend began soon after release. After opening on Friday with a strong worldwide figure, the film saw drops of 51% on Saturday and 26% on Sunday, followed by a major fall on Monday. By day 4, The Raja Saab had earned 88% less than its day 1 India collections, signalling weak audience retention.

The Raja Saab Box Office Collection So Far

Despite recording the lowest opening among Prabhas’ post-pandemic films, The Raja Saab managed to cross ₹100 crore worldwide on its opening day, driven largely by pre-release buzz and overseas markets.

Here’s how the numbers stand after four days:

  • India net collection: ₹114.60 crore

  • India gross collection: ₹137 crore

  • Day 4 India net: ₹6.60 crore

    • No: ₹1.75 crore

    • Tamil: ₹7 lakh

  • Overseas collection: Over $3.5 million

  • Worldwide gross: Around ₹170 crore

A strong opening in the US market helped boost overseas numbers, but domestic collections continue to fall sharply.

A Tough Road Ahead for The Raja Saab

The outlook remains challenging for the film. Industry tracking shows that The Raja Saab is performing below Prabhas’ earlier releases Saaho and Adipurush, both of which earned over ₹15 crore net on their fourth day, despite facing mixed to negative word of mouth.

In comparison, The Raja Saab has failed to reach even half of those figures. With a reported budget of ₹350 crore, trade analysts believe the film is unlikely to recover costs or break even during its theatrical run.

About The Raja Saab

Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab marked Prabhas’ return to the family entertainer genre after more than a decade. Following the massive success of the Baahubali series, the actor had largely focused on high-octane action films. Fans initially welcomed the film as a comeback of “vintage Prabhas.”

The film features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab. However, largely negative reviews from critics and weak word of mouth have significantly impacted its box office performance.
