MP Weather Alert – Madhya Pradesh is experiencing a double whammy of cold weather. Falling temperatures and dense fog in most parts of the state are bringing life to a standstill. The situation is so bad that traffic jams are occurring in many places. A Western Disturbance is expected to become active in the Himalayan region.

This could lead to unseasonal rainfall in the northern parts of MP within the next 2 to 3 days. Moderate to dense fog and intense cold are expected to continue in the Gwalior, Rewa, and Sagar divisions. Several Districts Shrouded in Fog

Several districts of Madhya Pradesh remained shrouded in dense fog, causing difficulties for commuters. Moderate fog is expected in districts like Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, and Rewa.

Dense fog is also expected in Bhopal, the capital of MP, as well as in Indore, Ujjain, Khajuraho, Guna, Shivpuri, Shajapur, and Sehore. Visibility is expected to be very low in these areas. According to weather scientists, the effect of cold winds from North India is likely to intensify in the districts of northern Madhya Pradesh.

Kalyanpur was the coldest place on Tuesday, with the temperature hovering around 5 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the mercury dropped below 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of the state last night. Kalyanpur in Shahdol recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Weather Forecast for These Areas

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Datia could be recorded at 5.4 degrees Celsius and in Gwalior at 5.6 degrees Celsius. In Bhopal, the temperature could be 9 degrees, in Indore 9.6 degrees, and in Ujjain 9.4 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Jabalpur is expected to drop to 9.8 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures in Pachmarhi and Rajgarh are also expected to fall to 5.6 degrees Celsius. This is likely to affect daily life.
