Kohli needs a half century to overtake Sachin Tendulkar
The former Indian captain Virat Kohli is enjoying his dream run in ODI cricket- the only format he is currently playing. In this, he has scored two centuries and three half centuries, which marks five consecutive fifty-plus scores. The run started in the final ODI in Australia, and continued in the home series against South Africa and then against New Zealand.
Kohli's ODI scores in last five ODI matches
| Runs (balls) | Opposition | Date |
| 93 (91) | New Zealand | Jan 11, '26 |
| 65* (45) | South Africa | Dec 6, '25 |
| 102 (93) | South Africa | Dec 3, '25 |
| 135 (120) | South Africa | Nov 20, '25 |

Currently he shares the spot with Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, Ajinkya Rahane, and the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Another half century in Rajkot on the 14th will overtake them.
Not only that, but he needs 1 run to override Tendulkar with the most number of ODI runs for an Indian against New Zealand. Both Kohli and Tendulkar have 1,750 runs against the Kiwis.
