New Delhi: The reigning champions of Indian Premier League (IPL) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are likely to get a new abode as Raipur and Navi Mumbai will host their home games in the upcoming 2026 edition. As per a report in the Times of India, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur are being considered as potential venues.

This massive development comes after a tragic stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium post RCB’s IPL 2025 title triumph. The celebrations turned tragic with as many as 11 fans losing their lives and 56 of them getting injured. RCB has played all their home matches at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru since IPL’s inception in 2008.

RCB to play home matches away from Bengaluru

This would be the first-time ever in the history of the league that the one-time champions would be playing their home ties away from Bengaluru. Meanwhile following the tragedy, the stadium was said to be nit fully equipped with stakeholders pointing out at a number of logistic issues. The incidednt attracted severe criticism towards both the franchise and the authorities prompting them to shift the home venue for the side un the upcoming edition of the league.

The report further mentions that RCB officials have finalised their plans to host the home matches at the two venues in the 2026 season. The team is likely to play five matches at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and two at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. This decision was taken after meetings with local authorities regarding the logistical facilities available at both venues.

Both the chosen venues have hosted several IPL and international fixtures in the past making it reliable choice for the Bengaluru franchise. Earlier, reports also suggested that Indore was also in the race to host the RCB games but looks like that both Raipur and Navi Mumbai have been finalised.
