After the incidents of people dying and falling ill due to contaminated water in Indore, now Noida Authority has also become completely alert. In Greater Noida’s Sector Delta One and Alpha 2 sectors also, 65 people fell ill after drinking contaminated water. Now taking this matter seriously, the CEO of Noida Authority has ordered a comprehensive review of the water supply system. Under this, a high power technical committee has been constituted to check leakage, corrosion, sewer mixing and quality of reservoirs in pipelines. This committee will not only do the paper investigation but will also go to the spot and collect samples and submit a detailed report.

The main work of the High Power Technical Committee is to investigate the entire chain to water supply of the city. In this, it will be seen whether sewer water is not being supplied due to rust or leakage in the pipelines, whether the drainage and water supply lines are interconnected and whether the water being supplied in water ATMs and reservoirs meets the standards or not. According to officials, the committee will collect samples from different sectors of the city and submit its report as soon as possible so that no incident like Indore happens in Noida in future.

In the same review meeting, displeasure was also expressed over the condition of roads and infrastructure. The CEO conducted a surprise inspection of many major routes including Road No. 3 and gave clear instructions that a detailed action plan for improvement should be prepared within 15 days.

Action against officers of Public Health Department

In view of the increasing filth and poor cleanliness in the city, a strict stance has been taken against the Public Health Department. During the review, it came to light that in many areas the drains were not being cleaned properly, due to which the risk of filth and infection was increasing. On the basis of this negligence, action has been taken to stop salaries by issuing show cause notices to three out of four assistant project engineers of the Public Health Department, Umesh Chand, Rahul Gupta and Sushil Kumar. Along with this, instructions have also been issued to purchase modern machines and medium size equipment for cleaning drains to modernize health services. Officials say that with the arrival of these machines, the cleaning work will speed up and manual dependence will be reduced, which will improve the cleanliness level.

Negligence will not be tolerated, the guilty will not be spared

This strictness of Noida Authority is an indication that now there will be no compromise on water cleanliness and basic facilities. The authority has made it clear that if the committee’s report reveals negligence at any level, then more stringent administrative action will be taken. The residents of the city have been assured that their health will not be compromised and the water supply system will be made completely safe and transparent.
