On Monday, National Youth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the units of National Service Scheme and NCC at Government Post Graduate College, Obra, Sonbhadra. The program started with garlanding the statue of Mother Saraswati. Thereafter, Principal (Dr.) Pramod Kumar and National Service Scheme program officers Dr. Alok Yadav, Dr. Sachin Kumar and Dr. Upendra Kumar garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekananda located in the college campus.

In the inaugural speech of the seminar organized on this occasion, Principal (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, while throwing light on the life of Swami Vivekananda in detail, said that Swami Vivekananda ji was a source of inspiration for the youth, he not only made the entire world aware of the goodness of Hindu religion, but also established the superiority of India and Indians by spreading the spirit of India’s knowledge and world power brotherhood throughout the world. He not only stopped the propaganda against Hinduism by Christian missionaries, but also ended religious and caste discrimination among the youth and widely spread the feeling of nationalism among them.

He told that Swamiji had said that every person should set a goal in his life and should keep trying continuously to achieve it until the goal is achieved. Program Officer Dr. Alok Yadav told that Swami Vivekananda ji devoted his entire life for the welfare of the country. Meanwhile, NSS and NCC in-charge Dr Sachin Kumar said that the youth should take inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda and sacrifice their body, mind and wealth for the country.

On this occasion, in the Sadbhavana Boys race competition, Priyanshu BA 1st semester got first place, Aamir Ali BSc 1st semester got second place and Haricharan BA 1st semester got 3rd place. In the Girls race competition, Jyoti BCom 1st semester got 1st place, Rangeeli BA 1st semester got 2nd place and Ankita BSc 5th semester got 3rd place. On the said occasion, Dr. Santosh Kumar Saini, Dr. Upendra Kumar, Dr. Sanghamitra, Dr. Anjali Mishra and a large number of National Service Scheme and NCC cadets like Raghuraj, Aditi Pandey, Ankita Kushwaha, Priya, Suraj, Rajesh, Afzal, Sujal, Sadir, Aman, Garima etc. were present among the students.
