Friends, in today’s modern era, smartphones have become an important part of our lives, through which we can do everything from banking and shopping to social media and work. Apart from being easy, it also makes you a hub of cyber fraud. Even a small mistake or wrong setting can put your account and money at risk. Let us know how you can save yourself-
1. Strengthen your screen lock
If your phone is not properly secured, cyber criminals can steal your money in a few seconds. Avoid simple patterns or four-digit PINs.
2. Manage app permissions
Many apps ask for more access than necessary—contacts, camera, messages, or storage. Check your app permissions in Settings and disable anything non-essential.
3. Disable auto-saved passwords and auto-login
Auto-login may be convenient, but it can be risky if your phone is lost or stolen. Banking and payment apps always require a fingerprint, Face ID, or PIN, rather than relying on a saved password.
4. Avoid unknown links and sideloaded apps
Never click on suspicious links or install apps from unknown sources. Fake apps can secretly record your passwords, OTPs and keystrokes, putting your accounts at risk.
5. Turn on Two-Step Verification and Security Alerts
Turn on two-factor authentication for email, banking, and social media accounts. Security alerts let you know immediately if a new device or location logs in.
